Kath's CD 'Dragons Under My Bed' is extremely popular with kids and adults alike! Her songs are catchy with clever, often humorous lyrics and melodic harmonies that will make you smile and tunes that even Dad will like! She writes in a real down-to-earth, Kiwi way exploring messy bedrooms, daily chores, being you, the phenomenon of disappearing socks and all with interactive rhythmical fun thrown in. Your kids will know some of the songs from school and you'll soon be singing along too!

Even enjoyed by adults who don't have kids, this is one CD that won't have you screaming,
"Turn it OFF!!" and will leave you wanting more…

NEW things to do to Kath's songs...

Dragons under my bed
A concert!! How about acting out the song? You could dress up and make dragon masks, you could hide under the bed, have someone act 'Mum'!

Odd sox
Draw lots of socks on some paper, cut them out and decorate or colour them all different. Do as many as you like. You can match them to the ones in my song (red, yellow, stripy, gold, mouldy, holey ones, spotty ones, cut some into ankle socks, yellow stars, lightening bolts, sparkly ones and ones with cars). Hold the socks up in the right place during the song. You could also tie up a piece of string and hang the socks on the line with pegs.

Individuality
Draw an outline of a person – lie down on a large piece of paper & get Mum or Dad to draw around your shape. Write in all the things that make you 'you'!

I’ve got a dinosaur in my back yard!
Follow this link to a website that has instructions on how to make a cool dinosaur out of a paper plate! http://www.kidscraftweekly.com/printables/paper_plate_dinosaurs.pdf Easy and cheap! Decorate your dinosaur with felts/pens/pencils/ paints/feathers/stickers or whatever you fancy and dance your finished dinosaur around while singing my song!
Another idea is to get pictures of each dinosaur: Triceratops, Diplodocus, Apatosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex, find out interesting facts about them and write them on the picture. This website has all sorts of cool and interesting facts on dinosaurs and much, much more! http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/dinosaurs

The silly song
How about writing your own silly song? Find some words that rhyme like top/hop; stone/telephone; heart/start; take/make; rocket/pocket; hairy/scary; wig/jig. Think of what you’d like to call your song and make up a chorus from the title. Or just start like this: “My name is Jed, my nose is red”… or “Sausages are good to eat, we always eat them on a seat”… Be as silly as you like!!

Seasons
Draw the following pictures:
• A tree with no leaves (autumn)
• A lovely golden leaf (autumn)
• A picture of a cold wind (winter)
• A fire (winter)
• A lamb, or spring flowers, blossoms (spring)
• The sun, blue water (summer)
You could stick the pictures onto iceblock sticks so you can hold them up in the right places, as you sing the song!

Save the planet
Make signs with the following words on: “RETHINK” “REUSE” “RECYCLE” “REDUCE” and “SAVE THE PLANET”. Try to make them out of recycled cardboard – cut up the side of a box or ask Mum or Dad to bring some scrap paper or cardboard home from work. Use the finished signs to act out the song. Have a look at the pictures at the bottom of my Homepage and you’ll see my signs.
